EI Special Educator

Hand In Hand Development, Inc., CMA is a NYS DOH approved Early Intervention Agency that provides evaluations, service coordination, and therapeutic services for children birth to 3 in all 5 boroughs, upstate and Long Island. Hand In Hand is also an approved Care Management Agency (CMA) under the lead health home of the Collaborative for Children and Families (CCF), and provides comprehensive care management, health promotion, transitional care, and family support for children and young adults from birth to age 21. Hand In Hand Development is the largest CMA in New York and is recognized as a leader and innovator in the provision of care management services.

We are seeking NYS Licensed Special Educators to provide therapeutic services in home settings. Our In-Home Services are provided throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC. We utilize a team centered approach fostering collaboration across all disciplines.

Salary Range: Fee for Service Location: Throughout 5 Boros

$60 for 30 min session, $80 for 60 min session with DOH Letter as a W2

$65 for 30 min session, $85 for 60 min session with DOH Letter as a 1099

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide behavior intervention within the home, school, or community setting.
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary team to create programs and work towards goals listed in the child’s IFSP.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor.
  • Work effectively with our team of multi-disciplinary service providers

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements(one of the following):

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education, Social Work, or related field
  • NYS Licensure as Special Educator or LMSW
  • Teaching Certifications: Students with Disabilities Birth – 2nd grade
  • Initial, Professional or Permanent Special Education Certificate
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Development of behavior plans and skill acquisition plans
  • Experience working with parents
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum of 1 year working with people with autism and related developmental disabilities
  • Bilingual a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to numerous locations to meet with clients, attend meetings and visit healthcare facilities.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly.
